Thai government decided to retaliate Singapore for granting an official reception to ex-Prime Minister Thaksin. I won’t go into the details, but let’s say that the measures are considered over-reacted by some, and appropriate by the others.

In my view, the decision to take political action today is a little bit too quickly. Thai government should start with a formal request for “official” explanation from Singpaore’s government. If they fail to comply, we should then issue a “warning” that this may hurt our two nations long term relationship.
